Add an offset hot wire inside and the fence stops being a scratching post. Cross-fencing lets you rest one pasture while the herd works another, and we can lay it out with you on the tailgate before an estimate turns into a contract. Field fence with a barbed or smooth top strand handles goats, sheep, and steers for less money per foot. On long driveways we hang sixteen-foot tube gates on eight-inch posts sunk below frost depth, because a farm gate that sags is a gate nobody closes.
County rules, property lines, and honest quotes
Hockinson sits in unincorporated Clark County, which keeps the paperwork light: the county does not require a permit for a fence seven feet tall or shorter, so most projects out here go straight from handshake to post holes. What deserves more care is the line itself. On acreage, a fence set a few feet inside the wrong boundary can give away a strip of pasture for good, so we work from corner pins, recorded surveys, or a fresh locate when the pins are gone.
